Wednesday's Weekly Top Photo

This was taken during my stay in Paris. The girls and I had just finished climbing Le Tour Eiffel and decided it was time to head to dinner. This station was of particular visual interest because it was set maybe ten or so feet below ground level, but was still open on one side to the street.
The vertical lines of the contemporary colonnade running along the inner and outer platforms strike a nice balance with the horizontality of the rails through the station.
I quite enjoyed seeing each different metro station in Paris. The tunnel openings were wide, thus a view far past the station wall was allowed. This is much unlike the tunnel design here in Prague, but I feel that the station designs in Paris lent to a more open and inviting experience.
